Well, it's late 2009 and Barak Obama is
in the White House. The dust has long settled
from the major studio renovation of 2008.
That challenge has proven very effective
in improving the ambience and the sound
and functionality of the studio. It's been
quite busy around TenneyTunes:
I
finished a successful CD project with Brookwood
Split, a 13-piece group with 5 horns. I started
a spec project with my old buddy Nick Blackwell,
which has turned into a full CD project due
for release in early 2010. I have begun tracking
a CD project for RTY Ministries, also due in
early 2010.
In
the middle of all this activity I have installed
a Pro Tools HD3 Mac-based system with
a Digidesign 192i/o. Believe me it's
the good stuff! I've added mic pres from Avalon
and Focusrite; mics from Neumann
and MXL; and a gorgeous new 6-piece
all-maple drum kit by Mapex. (click

But believe it or not these things are not the
biggest change around TenneyTunes...ok, I'll
tell you: TenneyTunes is now my DAY
job! After over 25 years of working
in music retail it's time to do what I've worked
toward all these years. Luckily I've learned
well and enter this new stage of life with great
confidence in my ability both as a Musician
and a Producer/Engineer. I now can say that
I work "full time" out of a world-class
recording facility - TenneyTunes Studio!
